Ai-Ai delas Alas to speak up on rumored separation from husband
Ai-Ai delas Alas will address the separation rumors hounding her marriage with Gerald Sibayan through an interview with her close friend, TV host Boy Abunda.
Abunda disclosed this during an episode of his show “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” on Friday, Nov. 8. Abunda began to talk about the issue by recalling his recent interview with Delas Alas for his TV special “My Mother, My Story.”
“There was one question I asked Eileen [during the interview],” Abunda said, referring to the comedian’s real name. “[Tinanong] ko kung ano ang kanyang kinatatakutan. Ang una niyang sinabi ay natatakot siyang mag-isa.”
(I asked what scares her the most. She initially answered that she is scared of being alone.)
“Pero pag dumating man ang oras na ‘yon, sabi niya, ‘Palagay ko, kaya ko na,'” he quoted Delas Alas as saying. (But if that time comes, she said, “I think I can handle it now.”)

(My answer was “I don’t know” because I really did not know when I was still in the US. But I said I was going to ask Eileen because I treat her not just as a celebrity but a family. She is family to me.)
Abunda then announced that Delas Alas is set to guest on “Fast Talk with Boy ABunda” on Monday, Nov. 11, to celebrate her birthday and to respond to speculations on her marriage.
Delas Alas and Sibayan, who have an almost 30-year age gap, got married in 2017. They renewed their wedding vows in Las Vegas in December 2022.
