Celebrity racer Angie Mead King’s sports car burst into flames while traveling along the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) on Thursday, Nov. 7.
King took to Instagram to share that she was driving the car when it caught fire, as she assured her viewers that she’s okay.
“Hi guys, thanks for checking. I’m alive. We gotta take care of throwing the car. The car is dead. It’s literally gone. Caught on fire after the exit. No words. I’m okay; my lungs hurt. The car was on fire when I was driving it, and then the car dropped down and basically burst into flame,” she detailed.
King, who appeared to be helpless, shared that her car could no longer be fixed.
“Car is gone, and just gotta continue the day and I don’t know; there’s no way to rebuild it; the rear chassis is completely burned. The wiring is completely burned. The engine looks like the metal is probably wired because the flames were intense. Not the way I wanted to end my day,” she explained.
The car enthusiast affirmed that the car was “modified,” so the cause of the fire could be “a multitude of things.”
In the comments section of her video, loved ones and fellow celebrities expressed their concern for King.
“Freak out much. Ay naku huney. Glad you pulled over when you did,” said her wife, Joey Mead King
“WILD! I’m glad you’re okay. That’s all that matters,” pitched in beauty queen Maggie Wilson.
King also posted a video of her wrecked sports car after the fire was contained. Other videos of her sports car along SLEX immediately went viral on the internet.
Meanwhile, it can be recalled that in 2018, King got into a two-car incident in Italy when she participated in the Finali Mondiali race.
