Vice Ganda said he did not persuade his partner Ion Perez to drop his candidacy for Concepcion, Tarlac councilor, with the actor-TV host noting that the two of them do not decide for each other.

Perez earlier announced his withdrawal from the 2025 elections, saying he wants to prepare himself first to serve his constituents competently.

Vice Ganda spoke about this after he was asked if he had any “involvement” on Perez’s decision, as seen on actor-showbiz reporter Ogie Diaz’s YouTube vlog on Wednesday, Nov. 6.

Kaming dalawa, we don’t decide for each other,” the “It’s Showtime” host answered.

(Our dynamic is not like that. The two of us, we don’t decide for each other. Ion does not tell me what to do, and I do not tell him what to do as well.)

Vice Ganda then stressed that they let each other process circumstances and decide for themselves, and that they only exchange suggestions and opinions.

(All his decisions are his alone and I trust him.)

The comedian further noted that Perez had been active in public service and had served as a youth leader in Tarlac even before they met.

(If he would say that he would no longer run, I wouldn’t be surprised because I know him. My husband has a good heart. He would not waste the public’s love, trust and support.)
