American actress Vera Farmiga — who’s best known for her role as Lorraine Warren in “The Conjuring” film series — made a career shift as she goes out with a new persona, that as the frontwoman of a new alternative rock band called The Yagas.

The band consists of Farmiga, her husband Renn Hawkey, guitarist Mark Visconti, bassist Mike Davis, and drummer Jason Bowman, as seen in photos on its Instagram page.

Following their launch, The Yagas dropped their first single “The Crying Room” on Friday, October 25, which revolves around the beauty of releasing and “crying your heart clean.”

“It’s a song that was filmed during and in the aftermath of an eclipse, and it’s about the eclipse of our soul. Eclipses have potent effects on our psychology. They evoke awe and wonder,” Farmiga told music platform Stereogum. “They are energetic portals that trigger epiphanies and outpouring of emotion. They help us shift. Humans are capable of getting stuck in our shadows from time to time.”

The actress, who has made a name for herself in the psychological-horror genre, also hoped their single would allow listeners to “look deep into [their] hearts” to bring their internal struggles into the light.

“It’s in this balancing of the dualities of shadow and light, one literally eclipsing the other, that we have an opportunity to look deep into our hearts and what is going on internally and bring that into the light. No matter how dark it is,” she was quoted as saying.

The Yagas are set to drop their debut album “Midnight Minuet,” although its release date is yet to be announced.

Aside from “The Conjuring” franchise, Farmiga is known for her work in the series “Bates Motel,” “Hawkeye,” and “When They See Us.”

The actress also appeared in the films “Orphan,” “The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas,” “Godzilla: King of the Monsters,” and “Up in the Air.”
