Paulo Avelino shows support to Kim Chiu’s ‘Magpasikat’ performance
Paulo Avelino extended his support to his on-screen partner Kim Chiu as she displayed a heartstopping “Magpasikat” performance on “It’s Showtime.”
The actor took to X (formerly Twitter) to share a photo of him watching the segment, adding the hashtag, “Magpasikat2024OgieKimMCLassy.”
Chiu re-posted Avelino’s tweet and wrote on her caption, “Wow, naman! Nanood [siya] ng showtime online (Wow, he’s watching Showtime online). Hahaha [thank you].”

Performing his original song, Alcasid discussed his struggles as a musician, the longing to keep up and stay relevant in changing times. His wife, singer Regine Velasquez, was captured showing her support in the audience, while their son Nathaniel delivered a message at the end of his father’s performance, reminding him that “he could not be left behind as life is not a race.”
MC and Lassy’s performance followed soon after, a skit about the need to show up to work despite being not okay inside. MC tackled his problems with love and his brother imprisoned, while Lassy discussed his struggles with his father hospitalized and their house submerged in floodwaters.
For the third act, Chiu, who trended on X for her thrilling stunts, displayed an interpretative circus-like dance about the pressure of not being good enough in the industry, with Asia’s Phoenix Morissette Amon singing “Isa Pang Araw” by Sarah Geronimo in the background.
The production number ended with the four “It’s Showtime” hosts gathering to advocate the message “Tigil. Hinga. Kalma.” (Stop. Breathe. Relax.)
On Monday, Team Vice Ganda, Karylle, and Ryan Bang kicked off its annual “Magpasikat” segment with an emotional performance featuring special appearances from P-pop group SB19, two-time Olympic gold medalist Carlos Yulo, and young actor-comedian Awra Briguela as they highlighted messages of “hope” in difficult times.
“It’s Showtime” is celebrating its 15th anniversary this October. The “Magpasikat” segment aims to honor the audience as hosts and other cast members compete against one another with striking performances as part of its week-long anniversary celebration.
