Kris Aquino denied through her close friend writer-editor Dindo Balares allegations that she’s tying the knot with her new boyfriend – a Makati-based doctor – while reminding her fans to be wary of false reports on social media.
Balares took to his Instagram account on Saturday, Oct. 5, to deny the rumors of Aquino getting married. The post also contained screenshots of the alleged garden wedding.
“Fake news. Maraming salamat po sa media friends na nagpapadala ng link at nagtatanong kung totoo o hindi (Thank you to media friends who sent links and asked if the reports are true or not),” he said.
In a separate post, Balares also shared a glimpse of his conversation with Aquino, in which the latter noted that the use of a garden as venue in her alleged wedding was enough for the reports to be considered as fake news.
“Back to Bicol ako para ituloy ang pagtatanim, nang matanggap ko ang sunud-sunod na messages at link ng post na ikakasal daw si Kris sa physician boyfriend. Nasa ibaba po ang chat namin ni Krisy kani-kanina,” he began his post.

In their conversation, Aquino reiterated that she’s allergic to tree leaves and grass since they trigger “allergic rhinitis and asthma attacks.” She also pointed out that she’s diagnosed with Chronic Spontaneous Urticaria, which makes her sensitive to direct sun exposure.
“‘Kuya Dindo, the best answer to that fake news is how can your panganay who has adult-onset asthma and has publicly admitted to having Chronic Spontaneous Urticaria and is currently undergoing treatment that makes her extra sensitive to direct sun exposure,’” Aquino said, per Balares.
“‘And as you yourself know sobrang allergic ako sa mga dahon ng puno (trigger ng allergic rhinitis and asthma for me) especially grass as in damuhan — does it make sense na pipili ako ng outdoor venue? Na punung-puno ng halaman? Hindi lang ako ang may asthma, si Bimb also has asthma,’” she continued.
(And as you yourself know I’m very allergic to tree leaves, since they trigger allergic rhinitis and asthma for me, especially to grasses. Does it make sense to choose an outdoor venue filled with leaves? It’s not only me who has asthma. Bimby also has asthma.)
The “Feng Shui” star stressed that her statements would only be coursed through Balares and entertainment insider Ogie Diaz, and should be considered trustworthy by the public.
“‘Kuya Dindo, kung totoong kilala ako nu’ng nag-scoop nito alam niya dapat ‘yung alam na alam mo — hindi friend ng respiratory system ko ang mga puno at lalo na ang grass, kahit nga astroturf bawal because maraming alikabok na puwedeng ma-collect,’” Aquino said, through Balares. “‘Dapat maniwala lang sila kung ikaw or si Pareng Ogie (Diaz) ang mag-’giveaway’ na blind item.’”
(Kuya Dindo, if the person who got this scoop truly knows me, they must know that my respiratory system is not friends with trees and grasses. I’m not even allowed to be near an astroturf since it can accumulate dust. When it comes to me, they must remember that statements given by you or blind items given by Ogie Diaz are what they should consider to be true.)
Aquino revealed in an interview last June that she’s in a relationship with a doctor based in Makati. She also clarified that her new beau is not the reason behind her split with Batangas Vice Governor Mark Leviste.
While the Queen of All Media has yet to reveal his identity, netizens speculated that her new boyfriend is Dr. Michael Padlan, a general surgery specialist based at the Makati Medical Center.
However, neither Aquino nor Padlan has addressed the speculations as of this writing.
