Cheer Factor: ‘Sexy’ is not just about curves, these women show their fans
It was hard not to give in and join the throng in cheering, by way of deciding who was the most daring at the victory party for men’s magazine FHM’s 100 Sexiest Women, held last week at Pasay City’s World Trade Center.
After all, the night’s theme was “Cabaret” and the video screens kept flashing the word “Burlesque” while a bevy of beauties in seductive costumes milled around us.
Prior to the main event, there was a jaw-dropping parade—dozens of centerfold wannabes, some of them flaunting busts and buns in the flimsiest of apparel that left almost nothing to the imagination.
Garter belts and black stockings were de rigueur, flashing back memories of fantasy scenes from adult movies.
After a while, however, we felt satiated and needed something else to look at.
Fortunately there was Eula Valdes, FHM July cover girl, who opened the cabaret act with a don’t-mess-with-me demeanor that shrouded her hot mama physique with mystery. She was totally in character throughout her number, lips pouted and eyes narrowed, as though hunting for prey.
This “bad” attitude bowled us over and, for a moment, silenced the crowd. When Eula walked away, the hall erupted in amorous cheers.
Aubrey Miles also drew warm applause, even if she couldn’t care less about walking the ramp like she was late for a business meeting. She wore a ready-to-rough-it black corset, but it was her hat that added allure to the vision.
Paloma sauntered by in a Playboy bunny-like outfit, seemingly willing and able to engage in a confrontation. When she blew kisses, we seriously considered running up the stage, the better to catch them.
All that Ornussa Cadnes did was flash her winsome smile and all hell broke loose. It was her glam boots, however, that made us drool.
Wendy Valdez was like an exotic goddess who, like Eula, demanded good behavior before she could grant favors.
In the end we concluded that “sexy” was not just about curves, but also about how well women wore them.—Pocholo Concepcion
