While Fumiya Sankai remained mum on the status of his relationship with Kate Valdez, the “Pinoy Big Brother” alum said he’s “so happy” with the actress’ company.
Sankai briefly addressed his budding romance with Valdez on the sidelines of a restaurant chain’s launch, when asked about the Kapuso star.
“I’m so happy [with Kate] too,” Sankai told reporters while laughing, referring to her August 2024 interview with 24 Oras. He also shared that the two of them started a joint YouTube channel, Onigiri Lovers.
The content creator admitted that vlogging alone for five years is tiring. But while entertaining the idea with Valdez, they decided to start the channel earlier this month.
“I left vlogging but my fans missed my vlogs. I was thinking about how to get back to it and medyo tiring [‘yung vlogging] since I’ve been doing it alone for five years,” he said.
“I was talking about it with Kate, since she’s an actress. She doesn’t [show much of her] real self, so I thought it would be nice to show [it to the public],” continued Sankai.
The “Pinoy Big Brother” alum couldn’t hide his smile when asked what message he wanted to give Valdez.
“I’m happy because of her support. Very thankful. And thank you for teaching me Tagalog,” he said.
The actress, too, was previously mum about the status of her romance with Sankai, but she told 24 Oras in August 2024 that she’s “super in love” and happy.
Sankai and Valdez sparked dating rumors after photos of them in Hong Kong Disneyland made rounds on social media. They are spotted together on multiple occasions, including a launch event of a technology giant in Taguig in September.
