This is not Sta. Maria’s first horror flick. In 2019, Sta. Maria starred in “Clarita,” a horror film about a woman who gets apprehended by authorities over the suspicion that she’s being tormented by demons.
The “Unbreak My Heart” actress also starred in the 2010 Filipino horror anthology film “Cinco (lit. ’Five’)” as well as in the 2014 Filipino supernatural horror film “Maria Leonora Teresa.”
She is currently the lead star of the revenge drama series “Lavender Fields,” alongside Jericho Rosales, Janine Gutierrez, Maricel Soriano, Edu Manzano, and Jolina Magdangal, among others.
Playing the role of Jasmine, the show marked Sta. Maria’s first action drama.
“It’s new. It’s something I haven’t done before. Ako kasi I always welcome challenges. When I begin to doubt myself whether I can do it or not, the more nanggigil ako na dapat ko siyang gawin (the more I get eager that I need to do it),” she said in a previous interview.
Sta. Maria is known for her TV series “Tabing Ilog,” “Pangako Sa ‘Yo,” and “Be careful with My Heart,” among others.
