J-Hope of the K-pop supergroup BTS expressed excitement as he began his 30-day countdown before his military discharge.
The K-pop artist shared a mirror selfie, showing his toned physique in his military pants and black shirt, through the fan communication platform Weverse on Tuesday, Sept. 17.
“One month, exactly 30 days! Time felt so slow, but now I’ve grown attached to it,” he said in the caption, as translated by K-pop news site allkpop. “As I clean up, giving my well-used items to my juniors and seeing my emptied locker, I feel more sentimental.”
J-Hope then looked back on how he started in the military, admitting he was so tense that even the sound of the locker opening bothered him. “Seeing the new recruits now, I feel a connection with them and find myself smiling at how I used to be.”
“I’m proud of my time here! I feel good about it!” he exclaimed.
J-Hope concluded his message by extending his well-wishes to his fans. “I hope autumn comes soon. I’ll see you next month. Until then, please take care and stay healthy.”
J-Hope is set to be the second BTS member to be discharged from the military, following the group’s oldest member Jin. Jin completed his mandatory military service last June 12.
