Claudine Barretto asked for prayers for her mother, Estrella “Inday” Barretto, while revealing that the latter had been diagnosed with lupus.
Barretto uploaded a photo of a hospital bed at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig on her Instagram page on Sunday, Sept. 15, saying that her mother has been confined for more than a week.
“Mom we [love and] need u dearly. [Please] get well soon. Palanggas [please] pray for my Mom. More than a week na sya sa hospital [and] is 87 years old with Lupus. I need all your prayers pls. She is the only parent i have left,” she wrote.
The actress also thanked her relatives for helping her in caring for her mother. She also added that she hasn’t been able to eat and sleep properly since she was occupied with taking care of her mom’s condition.
“Isama [niyo] na rin po ako sa prayers [niyo]. I [haven’t been eating [and I’m down] to 97 pounds [and] I haven’t been sleeping. God bless you all [and] your families as well,” she said.
In a separate post, Barretto shared photos of herself posing with her mother in the hospital.
“Get well soon Mommy. We [love you],” she captioned her post.
Barretto revealed in early 2024 that her mother was almost sent to the intensive care unit (ICU) after her parents’ house in Subic, Zambales was robbed. This led to her reiterating her priority to take care of her Mommy Inday as much as she can.
The actress’ father, Miguel Alvir Barretto, passed away in 2019.
