Ray Parks reminds Pinoys to stop saying the N-word amid IShowSpeed’s visit to PH

Basketball player Ray Parks reminded his fellow Filipinos to “do better” after someone dropped the N-word to American content creator Darren Jason Watkins Jr. aka IShowSpeed while on a visit to the Philippines.

Parks took to Instagram on Thursday, Sept. 12, to share a video of IShowSpeed being chased by fans on the street as he rode a motorcycle and being suddenly approached by a guy who said the N-word to his face.

IShowSpeed was seen insulted by the remark that he responded by cussing and asked, “What the f* do you mean? What did I do to you?” The guy tried to apologize and the internet personality replied, “It’s not cool. Peace out.”

Parks weighed in on the video as he urged people to “stop racism” because some “words could speak death.”

“To all my fellow Filipinos saying the N-word to act cool, that is just so ignorant, disrespectful, and downright embarrassing. Do better!” he stated. “Words could speak life and words could speak death. #StopRACISM.”

IShowSpeed is currently in the Philippines to stream his content and amid his visit, he made an appeal to fans to “respect his boundaries” as he is often mobbed and harassed anywhere he goes.

“This has been the lit-test country I’ve been to, but they do not listen,” he said in one of his vlogs. “They can match my energy but there are times when it’s too much, like I can’t even walk, bro. It’s just bad bro. I’ve been in countries that matched my energy and it was cool. This (Philippines) is insane.”

Aside from eating Filipino food such as balut and Jollibee products, the online streamer has also bonded with politician and retired boxing superstar Manny Pacquiao.

IShowSpeed is known for his “dramatic behavior” in his livestreams. He currently has 29.5 million YouTube subscribers and 24.1 million followers on Instagram.
