P-pop queens BINI confessed that it still hasn’t sunk in that they were one of the Voices of Asia awardees at the “Billboard K Power 100” ceremony, saying the recognition was an opportunity they had been waiting for.

BINI was among the Voices of Asia awardees with fellow P-pop powerhouse SB19 in the star-studded ceremony on Tuesday, August 27, held at the Shilla Hotel in Seoul, South Korea. The girl group performed a medley of “Cherry on Top” and “Pantropiko,” while the male quintet did “Gento.”

Among the K-pop idols who graced the event were EXO members Baekhyun, Chen, and Xiumin, VIVIZ, Kep1er members Yujin, Youngeun, and Dayeon, GOT7’s BamBam, and STAYC, to name a few.

The female octet is already back in the Philippines after the event, per a TV Patrol report broadcast on Wednesday, August 28, with the members still reeling from their experience.

“Parang naiwan pa rin ang utak namin [sa South Korea] since one day lang kami. ‘Yung award, parang di pa nagsi-sink in sa’min (It’s like our minds were left in South Korea since we’re there for a day. It hasn’t sunk in to us that we received an award),” BINI’s leader Jhoanna said of their stint.

Meanwhile, Maloi said the event felt like a “dream come true” since their experience seeing their faces along with K-pop idols was only a thing they used to see online.

“Grabe. Isa po ‘yun sa mga nakikita lang namin online. [Dati], nakikita lang namin ang mga K-pop artists and makita namin ang faces namin d’un, na ang daming cameras, sobrang it’s a dream come true,” she said.

(Wow. We used to see this online. Before, we only saw these K-pop artists and now we see our faces with them, along with the many cameras. It was really like a dream come true.)

Gwen, on the other hand, admitted they were nervous since it was their first time attending the event but they enjoyed the moment nonetheless.

“Inenjoy lang namin ang moment kasi hindi naman palaging ganito. Matagal na naming hinintay ang ganitong opportunity (We enjoyed this moment since it’s not always like this. We’ve been waiting for this opportunity for a long time),” she said.

BINI is set to hold their “Grand BINIverse” concert at the Araneta Coliseum in November this year.
