Kyline Alcantara is not inclined to discuss a viral video of her perched on the lap of rumored boyfriend Kobe Paras, saying she need not explain her actions to other people.
“I feel like it’s my right to not answer or to answer questions, or to deny nor confirm anything. I don’t need to explain myself din naman po to other people. Whatever they see, that’s what they’re gonna get,” Alcantara said in an interview on 24 Oras.
The video showed Alcantara wearing a tube dress sitting on Paras’ lap, while he appeared to be singing at a videoke bar with some friends. At one point in the video, Paras would kiss her bare shoulder while Alcantara would wrap her arm around his neck.
Addressing the video, the 21-year-old actress said that she puts a premium more on the judgment of the people close to her, and not the general public.
“As long as alam ng pamilya ko at ‘yung mga close kong mga kaibigan (my family and my friends know) or my loved ones what’s really happening behind cameras, I feel like I don’t owe the public any explanation naman po,” she explained.
Asked to describe her relationship status with Paras, the “Kambal, Karibal” said that she cannot find the “exact words to describe” what they have.
“It’s a different feeling po,” she said. “Lumalabas na lang siya (it’s making itself seen) through actions or auras, I guess.”
Dating rumors between Paras and Alcantara sprang up in May when eagle-eyed netizens noticed that they were at the same restaurant in Makati at the same time, based on their simultaneous Instagram posts.
In June, the two were spotted walking hand-in-hand at a parking lot in BGC.
Since then, the pair have been occasionally interacting on social media, with Paras mostly leaving “heart-eyed emojis” on Alcantara’s posts.
Despite the frequent public outings and cozy moments, both celebrities insisted that they are only “great friends” for now.
