MJ Cayabyab disclosed his resignation as a co-host from the Willie Revillame-led variety show “Wil to Win,” with the singer-actor citing “personal reason.”

Cayabyab said this as he addressed his being a no-show at the program through his X (formerly Twitter) page on Tuesday, Aug. 27.

“For those who are messaging me, ‘Bakit wala ka na sa ‘Wil to Win’ as co-host?’ Nag-resign na po ako [due to] some personal reason,” he wrote, opting not to expound on the matter.

“But thank you guys for your concern. I am okay,” he assured. “Thank you everyone.”

Cayabyab was part of the original lineup of hosts introduced in the show’s premiere in July. Other show co-hosts are Ana Ramsey, Sam Verzosa, Cindy Miranda and Roberta Tamondong, among others.

During one of the first few episodes of the variety show, Revillame shared how he met Cayabyab at the house of their fellow host Verzosa, saying he even mistook the singer for a house helper.

An emotional Cayabyab, recalling how he joined the show, then admitted, “Nung araw na sinabihan mo (Revillame) akong mag-audition, nag-doubt ako kasi hindi ko alam kung kaya ko.”

“Pero nung na-consider niyo po ako, unti-unti kong na-appreciate na naniniwala akong may talent pala talaga ako,” he said.

Meanwhile, “Wil to Win” recently made headlines after Revillame aired his dismay over the staff of the show. Some netizens also pointed out how the main host even lectures his co-hosts on air.

Revillame also earlier took back a player’s chance to win a cash prize after he learned that the latter is an avid fan of the show’s competitor “Family Feud.”
