After having their intimate wedding last year with only three attendees, Pia Wurtzbach and Jeremy Jauncey are planning to hold a second ceremony in Scotland to accommodate their families and friends.
Sitting down with Dr. Vicki Belo, Wurtzbach recalled the time she and Jauncey tied the knot in March 2023 at a luxurious resort on the secluded North Island of the Seychelles.
“We did it in the best way possible for us, na kaming dalawa lang (just the two of us), which was a little non-traditional,” she began. “We decided to have a private wedding where we didn’t even have our families, and our witnesses were people from the island.”
The Miss Universe 2015 clarified that they decided not to invite their loved ones, not because they didn’t want to share the moment.
“I wanted to just focus on the moment and enjoy, but it’s not to say I don’t ever want to celebrate with other people. We actually plan to do a second one, and we want to do it in Scotland, in a castle,” she said.
Jauncey, founder and CEO of Beautiful Destinations, a global multi-platform media company for travel and lifestyle content, is part-Scottish courtesy of his father who is a professional photographer from Scotland.
The “My Perfect You” actress shared that their private wedding was not spontaneous and it was something they planned together, as they don’t want to deal with the “stress” of having other guests around.
“We planned it. I knew that I wanted a very small private ceremony and thankfully that’s what he wanted also, because this is going to sound weird and I hope this doesn’t come off the wrong way, but my worst nightmare is to walk down the aisle with like camera phones on me,” she explained.
“I feel like work is already that, like people are taking lots of pictures of you… I shared my life with everybody. I share it with the world; everybody knows how I started and the Miss Universe, but I found a part of my life where I just wanted to keep and enjoy. I want to say my vows without having to worry about everybody hearing it,” continued the beauty queen.
Wurtzbach and Jauncey went public about their relationship in June 2020. Two years later, the couple announced their engagement.
