The Filipino “Bayanihan” spirit will once again be tested as two young Vietnam-based international pageants open their respective online voting, whose winners will earn guaranteed placements in the 2024 Miss Cosmo and 2024 Miss Charm competitions, where the Philippines will field Ahtisa Manalo and Kayla Jean Carter, respectively.
“As the first award announced by the Miss Cosmo Organization, the coveted ‘COSMO SOCIAL AMBASSADOR’ title will be granted to the contestant who receives the highest number of votes on social media platforms. Along with this prestigious honor, the winner will also secure a place in the Top 21 Finalists of Miss Cosmo 2024,” The Miss Philippines quoted the international organization on social media.
“With the slogan ‘IMPACTFUL BEAUTY’ the establishment of Miss Cosmo aims to realize the aspirations of global women. We seek individuals who have great ambitions to transform our world positively, embrace the spirit of daring to speak and act, and harness the power of social media to inspire and drive meaningful change,” the post added.
For the online poll, delegates will be divided into groups. The winners from each group will then advance to the next round of voting where the top vote-getter will receive the “Cosmo Social Ambassador” award.
Manalo earned the right to represent the Philippines at the inaugural staging of the Miss Cosmo pageant after finishing as second runner-up in the 2024 Miss Universe Philippines pageant in May. The national contest’s sister brand The Miss Philippines holds the franchise for the global tilt.
The 2024 Miss Cosmo pageant will culminate in a final coronation show in Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam on Oct. 5. Visit the contest’s social media accounts for further details on how to vote.
The Miss Charm pageant, meanwhile, will award three slots in different stages of the competition for the winners of the online poll. The delegate who will amass the most votes will secure a spot in the Top 5, while the second-highest vote-getter will automatically join the Top 10. A sure spot in the Top 20 is reserved for the delegate with the third-highest number of votes in the poll.
“VOTE for The Miss Philippines Charm 2024 KAYLA JEAN CARTER and help secure her spot in the Miss Charm 2024 Top 5!” The Miss Philippines posted on social media.
Carter, who represented the Filipino community in Northern California at the 2024 Miss Universe Philippines pageant, was appointed as The Miss Philippines-Charm 2024 after Krishnah Gravidez withdrew her participation from the international competition. The new titleholder advanced to the Top 20 of the national search.
Cyrille Payumo, who advanced to the Top 10 of the 2024 Miss Universe Philippines pageant and subsequently received the 2025 The Miss Philippines-Charm title, is reserved for next year’s edition of the global tilt. She inherited the crown from Gravidez, who later joined the 2024 Miss World Philippines competition which she eventually won.
The 2024 Miss Charm pageant was supposed to take place in the United States this month, but organizers canceled the staging of the competition in Los Angeles due to time constraints in securing the delegates’ visa.
The new date and venue of the final competition have not been disclosed yet. Visit the international pageant’s social media pages for details of the online poll.
