Ogie Alcasid shuts down a false report indicating that he and wife Regine Velasquez are heading for divorce.
Alcasid took to his Threads account to ask for help from his followers to report the fake article, as he emphasized that his marriage is sacred to both him and his spouse.
“This post was sent to me. It is so sad that the owner would spread rumors about our marriage that is so sacred to both me and my wife and fabricate stories about our supposed separation. I report po natin ito (let’s report this),” wrote the singer-songwriter in his caption.
The fabricated video article posted on Facebook claimed that the celebrity couple were separating after Alcasid cheated on Velasquez.

In the comments section of Alcasid’s post, netizens suggested Alcasid pursue legal action against the uploader of the video, the same way actor Mon Confiado filed a criminal case against a content creator named Ileiad after the latter posted a made-up encounter between them in a grocery store, painting the actor as a “bad guy.”
“Nakita ko rin yan sa YouTube, kaya dapat sampolan demanda ang mga gumagawa ng fake news tulad ng ginawa ni Mon Confiado,” said one netizen.
“For me, i-Mon Confiado mo na yan Kuya Ogs. NBI,” added another netizen.
In March, Alcasid warned netizens to be wary of fake news after information circulated that he and his wife would be having a concert in Dubai.
Meanwhile, the showbiz couple previously went emotional as they celebrated their son, Nate’s graduation from grade school.
Alcasid and Velasquez tied the knot in Batangas in December 2010 and welcomed Nate a year after their wedding.
Despite her decades-long career in the music and showbiz industries, Velasquez said that their 12-year-old son will serve as her “legacy.”
“Para po sa akin, ang akin pong legacy ay ang aking anak (for me, my legacy is my son) because people will forget about me, my voice, and what I’ve done in the industry, but my son will always remember me. So my son is my legacy,” she said.
