The celebrity couple first had their concert in Dubai in 2010, and it was followed by a second performance in 2014. They have yet to announce if they will be coming back for a third time.

Alcasid and Velasquez recently sat down with Billboard Philippines to talk about the role music plays in their relationship and gave their advice to aspiring artists who also want to make a mark in the music industry.

“I don’t think our marriage will survive without music. Literally, figuratively, and spiritually. It seems to be the binding force that keeps us together. Specifically because of our jobs and because we are also using music to praise our Creator,” said Alcasid.

The “Dadalhin” singer echoed her husband’s sentiments and stressed how important it is to be each other’s fans, especially when you both have the same career.

“I think the reason why our relationship also works is because we are each other’s number one fans. We support each other and…I think importante ‘yun pag pareho kayong job. Dapat may paniniwala kayo sa isa’t isa,” she remarked.

The married couple’s advice to artists who are also in a relationship with their fellow singers is to keep fighting for their passion for music and their love.

“I think I would like to encourage them to keep going for it. Some of the biggest musical acts in the world, especially during our time, are couples who would be performing or creatively working together. It’s not always a happy ending, but the byproduct of such a romance is amazing,” underscored Alcasid.

The two tied the knot in 2010 and will celebrate their 14th wedding anniversary in December. They have one son, Nate.
