“Fifty Shades of Grey” actress Dakota Johnson and Coldplay’s lead vocalist Chris Martin are “still happily together” after reports that they have recently called off their engagement circulated on the internet.
In a recent public sighting in Malibu, Johnson was seen wearing an emerald ring on her ring finger, which is said to be her engagement ring and the identical jewelry piece she debuted in 2020, the year she reportedly got engaged to Martin.
The “Madame Web” actress’ representative told multiple US outlets that the breakup rumors about her and Martin are “not true,” affirming that “they are happily together.”
A source also told People Magazine that the couple is balancing their busy careers and their blossoming relationship despite having issues in the past.
“Their relationship works because they are both very independent and actually have lives outside of their relationship. It’s like every time they are not spotted together for a while, there are breakup rumors,” said the source.
“Sure, they’ve had issues and taken breaks in the past, but things are great now. They both love their careers. They are balancing things the best they can,” added the source.
In March, Johnson shared in an interview with Bustle that she is open to the idea of becoming a mother in the future. She also expressed how much she loves being a stepmom to Martin’s kids with ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow, saying, “I love those kids like my life depends on it. With all my heart.”
Despite dating for almost seven years now, Johnson and Martin have managed to keep a low profile about their relationship. Over the years, the actress has been seen occasionally among the crowd every time the rock band singer is on tour.
Johnson told Vanity Fair at the time that “she loves to tour with Martin when she’s not working,” and her boyfriend returns the favor by visiting her on film sets.
