Maricel Soriano, Roderick Paulate win top acting honors at 40th Luna Awards
It was a special night for real-life friends Roderick Paulate and Maricel Soriano as they brought home the top acting plums, while “GomBurZa” bagged Best Picture at the 40th Luna Awards on Saturday, August 3 at the IBG-KAL Theater, University of the Philippines Diliman.
Led by the Film Academy of the Philippines (FAP), Paulate and Soriano bagged the top acting honors for their performances in “In His Mother’s Eyes.”
Meanwhile, “GomBurZa” emerged as the night’s biggest winner with four awards including Best Picture and Best Director.

Best in Production Design: Ericson Navarro for “GomBurZa”
