Comedian Lassy said that around P500,000 worth of his personal belongings including household appliances were damaged due to the Carina flooding, lamenting how he needs to start from scratch again.

The “It’s Showtime” host showed his belongings in the aftermath of the typhoon — which include his wet pairs of shoes, their family’s refrigerator, television, microwave oven, portable speakers, electric fans and gadgets which are no longer working, as seen in a vlog on Beks Battalion’s YouTube channel on Wednesday, July 31.

Lassy also noted that he has been absent from the noontime show to attend to his family and deal with the mess in their house.

“[Umabot ‘yung baha] sa second floor, kalahati ng second floor,” he told his fellow comedians Chad Kinis and MC Muah, recalling how he had to swim through the floodwaters to get to safety.

“Ang hirap kasi para kang nagsisimula nanaman. ‘Yung lahat back to [zero],” Lassy added. “‘Yung itsura nitong [bahay], nakakapagod talaga… Amoy baha. Ang hirap nang kumilos dito, sobra.”

Lassy stated that it was his second time to experience flooding but that the recent one left him traumatized. “Nung una ‘yung 2012 na hindi naman umabot ng second floor. Ito ‘yung malala. Sobrang lala na nakaka-trauma talaga.”

“Tingin mo around magkano ‘yung nawala dito lang sa [first floor]? Tingin mo merong almost kalahating milyon,” Chad asked, to which Lassy replied, “Baka.”

During the first few hours of the onslaught of Carina, Lassy already instructed his family to evacuate sans him and move to their second house, which has a balcony where they could wait for the rescue team.

Lassy, who was the last to evacuate the main house, had to swim through the flood with a water gallon as the floodwaters quickly rose. He then reached the main house’s roof where he waited for help.

Lassy also narrated that the rescue boat that picked up his family capsized, causing them to lose the urn of their father which they evacuated with them.

Fortunately, Lassy, who was subsequently rescued after swimming from roof to roof, was later able to return to where the urn fell and retrieve it.

“Nakakapagod pero kaya naman. Kasi ‘di ba ‘yung tatay ko mahigit two months pa lang namamatay, tapos ito na naman.” he said in the vlog.

Lassy and his family are currently staying in a temporary home, although the comedian is looking for a bigger place where they can move into.
