Jennylyn Mercado was all set for the GMA Gala but had to skip the event because she needed to attend to her sick son Jazz, as disclosed by the actress’ hairstylist.
Bianca Anne Vergara, who was among Mercado’s glam team for the GMA Gala, explained the actress’ absence while showing what was supposed to be her look at the event, through an Instagram post on Monday, July 22.
“Eto dapat yun oh. Kasado na eh! Baka pwede i-rewind ang GMA Ball,” Vergara quipped.
“She was supposed to attend GMA Ball. [In fact], ready na kaming lahat but sadly, nagka-emergency si Jazz. Nagka-trangkaso,” she continued.
Vergara further underscored that as a parent, Mercado’s first and foremost priority is her children.
“Sana po maintindihan na lang natin ‘yung nangyari. Bawi na lang kami next year,” Vergara added.
Mercado then appeared to have affirmed Vergara’s statement as she liked the latter’s post.
Mercado, for her part, also showed through her Instagram page her videos donning the same dress.
Meanwhile, Mercado’s actor husband Dennis Trillo graced the event in a custom white suit by designer Ziggy Savella.
Mercado was earlier hounded by network transfer rumors but the actress dismissed this, noting that she has ongoing contract negotiations with GMA Network. Mercado also clarified that she didn’t receive offers from other networks.
“Maraming nag-aantay ng sagot and ako naman, 20 years na akong Kapuso. I’m very thankful na hanggang ngayon, ako ay Kapuso pa rin,” she said.
Mercado and Trillo also earlier put up their own production company Brightburn Entertainment.
