Jennylyn Mercado thankful to be Kapuso, but has yet to renew with GMA
Jennylyn Mercado denied receiving offers from another network while reiterating that she’s thankful to be a Kapuso for 20 years, ending rumors of her supposed network transfer.
Mercado pointed out that she is grateful to be a Kapuso in a brand launch in Quezon City on Thursday, July 18, when asked about her plans with GMA.
“Sa GMA, sa ngayon, wala pa po. Pero meron kaming lalabas movie ni Dennis [Trillo] kasama si Sam [Milby] under CreaZion, wala pa pong target date pero this year lalabas. Sa GMA, siyempre, palagi naman akong Kapuso,” she said.
“Maraming nag-aantay ng sagot and ako naman, 20 years na akong Kapuso. I’m very thankful na hanggang ngayon, ako ay Kapuso pa rin,” she continued.
(With GMA, none yet. But Dennis Trillo and I have a movie with Sam Milby under CreaZion Studios. There’s no target date but it will be out this year. With GMA, of course, I will always be a Kapuso. Many are waiting for my answer and I’ve been a Kapuso for 20 years. I’m very thankful that until now, I’m still a Kapuso.)

Basta gusto pa rin nila ako, diba,” she said. “Pinag-uusapan pa pero sa ngayon, kung gusto nila akong maging Kapuso, happy ako na maging Kapuso.”
(Negotiations are ongoing but it will be quick. We’re just waiting for the contract but I’m still happy to be a Kapuso. As long as they still like me, right? We’re still talking about it but if they still want me to be a Kapuso, I’m happy to be a Kapuso.)
Mercado, along with her managers, reiterated that she didn’t receive an offer from another network.
“Wala po, wala pong offer ng ibang network (None. I have no offer from a different network),” she said.
The “Rhodora X” star was then asked if she’s working on a freelance basis, to which she replied with a brief “yes.”
Mercado sparked rumors of transferring to ABS-CBN after she wasn’t seen in GMA’s station ID.
Her manager Becky Aguila denied the network transfer rumors earlier this month, saying the actress-singer was absent in the station ID filming due to a conflict in schedule.
