Of the five crowns awarded at the recently concluded Miss World Philippines 2024 pageant, four went to veterans of other national competitions.
The title itself went to Baguio’s Krishnah Marie Gravidez, who finished in the Top 3 of the 2023 Miss Universe Philippines pageant, which placement earned for her the Miss Charm Philippines crown.
She withdrew from the 2024 Miss Charm pageant to pursue the Miss World Philippines crown. She had already relinquished her former national title to Cyrille Payumo, who earned it after cracking the Top 10 in the 2024 Miss Universe Philippines pageant in May.
Also from the 2024 Miss Universe Philippines pageant were Cavite’s Dia Maté and Batangas’ Patricia Bianca Tapia, who were crowned Reina Hispanoamericana Filipinas and Miss Philippines Tourism, respectively.
The Face of Beauty International Philippines title, recently added under the umbrella of ALV Pageant Circle of Miss World Philippines National Director Arnold Vegafria, went to 2023 Bb. Pilipinas semifinalist Jeanne Isabelle Bilasano from the Bicol Region.
Even 2024 Miss World Philippines First Princess Jasmine Omay from Tarlac had seen action on the Bb. Pilipinas stage, advancing to the Top 12 in 2022.
The lone national pageant rookie to snag a crown was Pangasinan’s Nikki Buenafe, who received the Miss Multinational Philippines title, whose two previous recipients Isabel De Leon and Shaila Rebortera were not able to compete abroad because of the cancellation of the global tilt during their respective years.
The winner of the first Miss Multinational pageant was Filipino queen Sophia Senoron, who earned her right to compete in the said global tilt at the 2017 Miss World Philippines pageant.
Completing the 2024 winners’ circle was Second Princess Sofia Bianca Santos from Pampanga, who also made it a sweep for Luzon provinces with all five queens and two runners-up hailing from the largest island group in the country.
The competition was held at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City on Friday, July 19, and ended early morning on Saturday. Thirty-three ladies participated in this year’s pageant.
