Former Filipina actress Bangs Garcia happily announced that she has finally become a British citizen, seven years after marrying her British husband.

Garcia took to Instagram to share a photo of her with British officials holding a piece of paper to prove she has “pledged allegiance” to the United Kingdom.

“A year late, but I’m glad I finally had time to sort out my citizenship this year. I’ve just pledged allegiance to King Charles III and the United Kingdom earlier. Therefore, I’m officially a British citizen today,” she wrote in the caption.

In 2017, Bangs tied the knot with Filipino-British Lloyd Birchmore in a civil ceremony in England, followed by a private church wedding and a beach wedding in Boracay. The couple currently resides in the U.K. with their daughters, Amelia and Isabella.

The couple managed to wow the public and their loved ones after tying the knot three times in three different locations.

“Finally, the first day to the public as official Mrs. Valerie and Lloyd Birchmore since yesterday was honestly our 3rd wedding already! 1. Civil Wedding in London 2. Church Wedding 3. Beach Wedding! Oopsie hihihi,” the actress wrote at the time.

Garcia rose to fame when she finished as a runner-up in ABS-CBN’s Close-Up to Fame talent search in 2005. In the same year, she landed her first role in “Daddy Di Do Du.” She also auditioned for the sitcom “Let’s Go!” and the first teen edition of “Pinoy Big Brother.”

The now-37-year-old has bagged some accolades in her active years in acting. In 2011, she was awarded Best Supporting Actress in the 2011 PASADO Awards for her performance in the film “Segunda Mano.”

In 2013, she bagged another PASADO award for her portrayal as the titular character in the period drama psychological thriller “Lauriana.”

Some of her acting credits include “Bulong,” “Palos,” “Shake, Rattle & Roll XI,” and the TV shows “Katorse” and “Kambal sa Uma.”
