The performance of Alden Richards and Julia Montes in “Five Breakups and a Romance” earned recognition from the Philippine Movie Press Club (PMPC), as the actors were among the winners announced by the 40th PMPC Star Awards for Movies.
According to the partial list of winners released by the PMPC, Richards and Montes are among the biggest names that will receive awards, bagging the Movie Loveteam of the Year plum. Other winners were also announced ahead of the awards ceremony at the Henry Lee Irwin Theater, Ateneo De Manila University, on Sunday, July 21.
A telecast of the ceremony will be aired on July 27.
“In a special twist for our 40th year, we are changing the format of our winner announcements. Except for the categories of Best Actress, Best Actor, Movie of the Year, Movie Director of the Year, Indie Movie of the Year, and Indie Movie Director of the Year, all other winners will be revealed prior to the awards night,” PMPC said.
