The Manila run of Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss’ hit musical “Six” has announced its cast who will portray King Henry VIII’s wives ahead of its October staging.
Bringing the titular queens to life are Billie Kerr as Catherine of Aragon, Yna Tresvalles as Anne Boleyn, Liberty Stottor as Jane Seymour, Hannah Victoria as Anna of Cleves, Lizzie Emery as Katherine Howard, and Eloise Lord as Catherine Parr, according to a press statement by organizer GMG Productions.
Also joining as alternates are Izzy Formby-Jackson, Lorren Santo-Quinn, Erin Summerhayes and Milly Willows.
GMG Productions CEO Carlos Candal expressed his excitement for the upcoming Manila staging, as he hoped the Filipino audience would be inspired by the cast’s “unmatched energy.”
“We know fans have been eagerly waiting for this moment, and we couldn’t be happier to welcome the new ‘SIX’ queens to Manila. Filipinos will be thrilled to see them take the stage with unmatched energy, talent and passion to tell this extraordinary story,” he said.
The musical is a modern retelling of King Henry VIII’s wives Catherine of Aragon, Anne Boleyn, Jane Seymour, Anne of Cleves, Catherine Howard and Catherine Parr in a quest to tell their truths away from the King’s shadow.
One of the highlights of “Six’s” storyline is the Catherines, the Annes and Jane assuming as “influential pop stars” in hopes of reclaiming their narratives.
It is produced by Kenny Wax, Wendy Barnes, Andy Barnes and George Stiles, while Moss and Jamie Armitage are the directors.
The musical, which was first announced in March, will run from Oct. 4 to 20 at The Theatre at Solaire in Parañaque.
