Luis Manzano is grateful to supporters of his defunct “It’s Your Lucky Day” who are calling for its comeback on the airwaves. Despite this, he said he would focus on his upcoming game show “Rainbow Rumble” for now.

At his contract renewal press conference, Manzano expressed hope that his fans would also extend the same support to his new show. As for “It’s Your Lucky Day’s” return, he believes it will happen at the “perfect timing.”

“Thank you! Unang-una, thank you na maraming naga-abang sa ‘It’s Your Lucky Day.’ Isa rin naman kami sa naga-abang, pero lahat ‘yan, may perfect timing,” he said. “Noong nangyari ang nangyari sa ‘It’s Showtime,’ hindi namin alam na magiging malaki ang following ng ‘It’s Your Lucky Day.’”

(Thank you! First of all, thank you to those who are still awaiting “It’s Your Lucky Day’s” return. I’m also one of those who are waiting for it. But all of these have its perfect timing. When that thing with “It’s Showtime” happened, we didn’t expect that “It’s Your Lucky Day” would have a huge following.)

Manzano was referring to the program that became the placeholder for “It’s Showtime,” which was suspended for 12 days by the MTRCB in October 2023. Aside from him, “It’s Your Lucky Day” was also hosted by Robi Domingo, Melai Cantiveros, and Shaina Magdayao.

“Mga gan’ung senyales, you did something right. Kapag tama ang oras para sa ‘It’s Your Lucky Day’ or the time na ibalik ang show. But for now, ‘Rainbow Rumble’ muna ang gagawin natin,” he said.

(These signs are proof you did something right. The right time for “It’s Your Lucky Day” will come for its return. But for now, I’ll focus on “Rainbow Rumble.)

On ‘Rainbow Rumble’

While Manzano has yet to reveal more details, the host is happy to lead a game show that is made for the Filipino public.

“Nakakatuwa. You have more freedom. Kasi the past franchise na ginagawa ko, tulad ng “Minute To Win It,” meron ka nang bible. The games, protocols, and parameters are there. [Pero ito], nakakaproud na [maging part] ng isang show na gawa ng Pilipinas. It’s very refreshing para sa akin,” he said.

The host also hinted that “Rainbow Rumble” is trivia-based, while hoping that it’s a game show that can be marketed abroad.

“We have been waiting for a show na pwedeng i-market abroad. Naniniwala ako na itong ‘Rainbow Rumble’… it’s one of those shows na kapag ginawa mo, bubuhos ang tawag if they can franchise this show,” he said.

“There’s a component ng mga talino, for the book smart and street smart. There’s a game of chance and luck also,” he continued.
