Gene Padilla is taking to heart his being “uninvited” to the wedding of his niece Claudia Barretto, and now, the comedian is the matter into his own hands — by imprinting the tag on his arm.
On Facebook, Gene gave a glimpse of his recent ink session wherein he had the words “Mr. Uninvited” tattooed on his left arm, referencing the claim of his former sister-in-law Marjorie Barretto that he should not be ranting about Claudia’s choices during her wedding since he was not invited to the ceremony to begin with.
Gene said he got the tattoo for his “best” critics.
“Para sa ating mga basher. The best kayo bashers. We really love you. Kayo na rin naman nagbigay n‘yan edi gawin natin,” he said in the video. (This is for our bashers. You are the best bashers. We really love you. Since you’re the one who gave that moniker to me, so let’s do this.)
Netizens commented on Gene’s post, with some of them mocking him for insisting he was uninvited when he should be saying that he gatecrashed Claudia’s wedding. Still, Gene was unable to move on from the controversy, his critics said.

Gene’s involvement stemmed from his social media rants following the low-key wedding of Claudia and her boyfriend Basti Lorenzo last April 8, wherein he claimed that his brother Dennis Padilla should have been given a prominent role in the wedding as father of the bride, particularly in walking her down the aisle, as were traditionally done in weddings. The Padilla brothers also assailed the shabby treatment that their family received during the ceremony.
Marjorie then clapped back at them in an interview, saying Dennis had agreed to Claudia’s condition that she would walk the aisle by herself, otherwise, he would not have been invited.
As for Gene, Marjorie said that he was not invited to begin with, and that Claudia’s invitation was only for Dennis and her grandmother, Catalina Dominguez, the Padilla matriarch. She also claimed that their family was not shabbily treated, as they claimed, saying they were even mingling with the crowd. Dennis even took pictures with the newlyweds, and that he only made a fuss when he already saw Claudia walking to the altar without him.
Weeks after the wedding, Gene would again take to social media to show off T-shirt designs that bore the words “MU” and “Mr. Uninvited,” in an apparent attempt to deflect the backlash he was getting from his critics.
