Megastar Sharon Cuneta declared she is a fan of Alden Richards and Kathryn Bernardo’s tandem, known as “KathDen,” and admitted she is hoping a real-life romance will blossom between the two.

In an interview with TV Patrol, the veteran actress was asked about the rumors that Richards is courting Bernardo, to which she gave an enthusiastic response.

“Ayokong magsabing oo, pero tawagan ko si Alden mamaya,” she joked. “Nahihiya kong magsabi ng ‘Anak, kayo na ba?’ Pero nag-message ako sa kaniya, [sabi ko] ‘Anak, kung totoo ‘yan, napakasaya ko!”

(I don’t want to say yes, but I’ll call Alden later. I’m too shy to ask him ‘Son, are you and Kathryn a thing?’ But I messaged him, [I said], ‘Son, if that’s true, I’m very happy!)

Having worked with the two on different projects (Bernardo played her daughter in the 2018 film “Three Words to Forever,” while Richards portrayed her son in the 2023 Metro Manila Film Festival entry “Family of Two”), Cuneta vouched that the Kapamilya actress and the Kapuso actor both possess the same good qualities.

“Alam mo nakatrabaho ko na silang dalawa, parehong super bait na mga tao. Totoo ‘yung mga sinasabi ng mga taga Star Cinema na napakabait ni Kathryn and then Alden the same, so I cannot contain my excitement. Pero nahihiya ako magtanong,” expressed the megastar.

(You know I’ve worked with both of them, both super nice people. It’s true what people from Star Cinema say that Kathryn is very kind and then Alden is the same, so I cannot contain my excitement. But I’m too shy to ask.)

Meanwhile, as announced on Wednesday, July 3, Cuneta is set to make her teleserye comeback under ABS-CBN’s Dreamscape Entertainment.

Richards and Bernardo, who first worked in the 2019 blockbuster movie “Hello, Love, Goodbye,” are also set to reunite on screen in the upcoming sequel “Hello, Love, Again,” which is scheduled for release in November.
