Andrea Brillantes came to the recent fan meet of Korean star Kim So-hyun dressed like a bride, shrugging off bashers who criticized her for supposedly trying to steal the show.
On Instagram, Brillantes posted about her experience as a K-pop and K-drama fan, including snaps of the event, as she recalled the backlash that she received in previous years just for being vocal about her fangirling moments.
“A few years ago, I decided to stop being super vocal about my interest in the kdrama/kpop industry. I experienced extreme backlash when I was a kid for simply sharing my fangirl moments from groups and series that I loved, and I received a lot of hate,” she said.
Brillantes underscored that now that she’s older, she’s more confident to share her feelings and experiences, especially after seeing one of her ultimate idols from Korea.
“Since then, I’ve tried not to post and just remain a quiet fan from afar, pero minsan napapapost padin haha. It’s been 7 years since that traumatic experience, so I feel like I have more courage to share my fangirl moments now that I’m already 21 and not 14 anymore hehe,” she expressed.
“I know people will still have a lot to say, but I’m just too happy to finally have seen Kim Soo-Hyun because I’ve been following him since I was 13, and he’s literally my number one big Korean crush ever since,” added the young actress.
The “Kadenang Ginto” actress wore a noticeable wedding gown when she attended Kim’s fan meeting in Manila and thanked the people who helped her pull off her attire. In the pictures she shared, the Korean actor noticed her by giving her a mini-finger heart sign and a wave.
“One of the happiest days of my life, as in huhu. Feel ko talaga kinasal ako, kahit nga di na siguro ako ikasal eh happy na ako dito CHAROT. We love you Kim Soo-Hyun!” concluded her caption.
In March, Brillantes got noticed by global girl group Blackpink after her banner got read by the members, as she asked her former boyfriend Ricci Rivero to go to prom with her.
