Maki’s ‘Dilaw’ featured in Korea’s ‘World Pop Live: Global Hit Songs’ series
“Dilaw,” the smash hit of singer-songwriter Maki, is making waves in the music scene as K-pop boy group Blitzers performed a cover in the South Korean web series “World Pop Live: Global Hit Songs.”
Blitzers’ Sya and Wooju performed a rendition of “Dilaw” on the “World Pop Live: Global Hit Songs’” June 25 episode, where they did their own take of the song’s chorus.
Also featured in the episode are “Charm” by Lykn x Joong and Pond (Thailand), “I Had Some Help” by Post Malone and Morgan Wallen (US), “Piracao” by Kaká e Pedrinho (Brazil), “Too Sweet” by Hozier (Ireland), “Parapluie” by Jeck (France), “80qm” by Nina Chuba (Germany), and “Fire” by Meduza, OneRepublic, and Leony (Italy).
Maki recalled on his X (formerly Twitter) page on July 1 how he used to translate K-pop songs in Filipino while resharing a clip of the cover.

Maki earlier said in an interview that “Dilaw” was written in August 2023, and that bringing the song to life was a “free-flowing” process. He also shared that working with BINI Maloi on the song’s music video was his way of showing “her other side” to audiences.
“The song process didn’t take a long time, nor was it challenging. I didn’t have a rough patch creating the song. It was very free-flowing… Coming from a heartbroken EP, I want this to be very bright and happy. It’s really different but I’m glad that [listeners] are taking it in, that I’m not broken anymore. I’m on my healing era now,” he said.
The song made its Global Spotify Chart Debut in June where it entered the 200th rank.
“Dilaw” is the second song to be featured on the South Korean web series after BINI’s “Pantropiko” in April 2024. The cover of the latter song was performed by UNIS’ Gehlee Dangca, Elisia Parmisano, and Lim Seowon.
