About a month after announcing their “exclusively dating” status, Donnalyn Bartolome revealed that she is now officially in a relationship with JM de Guzman.
The actress-vlogger made the announcement by looking back on how their friendship started with a “pinky promise” in 2022, through her Instagram page last Friday, June 28.
“I thought we were only going to be friends. I was almost certain. If everyone knew in detail how I felt and everything that transpired, you’d feel the same, but the stars had something else written in them,” she said.
Bartolome revealed that during their dating phase, they both made promise rings which they would give each other once they finally decide to be officially together.
Bartolome further disclosed that they even flew to Japan together to ask for her parents’ “acceptance.” Not long after, the pair made their relationship official by exchanging promise rings in a “play” organized by Bartolome.
“On June 22nd 2024, a Hercules costume I made him wear at a basketball court. He had a dream one night, ‘nanaginip akong nasa basketball court tayo tapos sobrang saya natin,’ he told me. I decided to make that a reality,” she wrote in the caption.
“I called out goddesses to sway and twirl for a play, while I was Megara singing her song about Hercules. What better way can you tell a theatre actor you adore him?” she said.
Bartolome commended De Guzman for his determination, crediting him as well for awakening the love she didn’t known she can still give.
“Even though I no longer believe in forever, I believe in now. Spell it backwards and that’s what he has done. [The] match to capture my heart, I declare out loud: Juan Miguel won,” she concluded.
De Guzman, for his part, declared his love for the vlogger through his Instagram page.
“I love you, baby. Palagi,” he captioned a photo of them and their promise rings.
De Guzman and Bartolome sparked dating rumors in late 2022, but the actor only confirmed courting her in 2023. In May 2024, the pair revealed that they were “exclusively dating.”
