David Licauco on relationship status: 'Taken'

David Licauco, who has been very private about his love life, confirmed being in a relationship, saying in a “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” interview that he’s “taken.”

Licauco was asked if he was single or taken during the fast-talk segment of the show’s June 25 episode.

“Single or taken?” show host Abunda asked, to which the actor replied, “Ssss…taken.”

While Licauco did not expound on his special someone and the status of his heart, the Pambansang Ginoo spoke about how his perspective in romantic love has changed from when he was a lot younger to now.

“When I was younger, as long as maganda, siguro chinita tsaka masaya kausap… Kasi ‘pag masaya kausap feeling mo parang in love ka na e,” he said. “Siguro before, parang feeling ko ang love hindi kailangan ng work. Feeling ko dapat swak lang kayo palagi, and if it’s hard, goodbye.”

“Now, it’s really different,” he continued. “I think you have to empathize with your partner. For sure maraming problema along the way, so kailangan mong lumaban; kailangan mong intindihin kung saan nanggagaling ‘yung partner mo.”

Licauco also affirmed that at his age, he already thinks about marriage but that he has no plans yet of settling down in the near future. He further stated that his ideal age to get married is in his mid-30s.
