BGYO filed cyber libel and unjust vexation lawsuits against certain individuals for allegedly spreading false information about the P-pop boy group members.

BGYO members Gelo, Akira, JL, Mikki and Nate personally lodged the cases before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office, as per “TV Patrol” on Wednesday, June 19.

The legal action, according to the report, stemmed from the accusations of bullying, cheating and drug use thrown against the boy group members. Further details on the defendants, meanwhile, were not immediately disclosed.

It can be recalled that BGYO and Star Magic’s legal counsel, Atty. Joji Alonso, warned last April that the talent management company would take legal action against “unfounded rumors” involving the boy group and their sibling group BINI.

This statement came after a video of BINI’s Gwen, Stacey, Mikha and Maloi dancing to the their hit song “Pantropiko” at what appeared to be a birthday party for BGYO’s Gelo made rounds on social media.

The video caused online ruckus as the BINI members’ attendance at the event apparently did not sit well with some of the fans, who cited allegations of cheating and assault involving some of BGYO’s members.

“We remind the public that it is not only crucial to call out acts of bashing and cyberbullying but to show kindness and accord everyone due respect both online and in real life,” Alonso said at the time.
