Kim Seokjin — best known as BTS’ Jin — will be discharged from the military on Wednesday, June 12, although no special events will be held on the day itself.
Jin’s label BigHit Music confirmed the BTS member’s discharge in a fan community platform Weverse statement, saying his departure from his mandatory conscription is “reserved for military personnel only.”
“Jin is close to completing his active service in the army and will soon be discharged. Please note that the discharge day is reserved for military personnel only. No special events are planned on the day of Jin’s discharge,” it said.
The South Korean label urged fans to refrain from visiting the military site due to overcrowding concerns.
“Please convey your warm regards and encouragement in your hearts. We are always grateful for your unwavering love and support for Jin. Our company will continue to put our utmost effort into supporting our artists. Thank you once again for your continued love and support for BTS,” BigHit said.

In a report from the Korean media outlet Star News, RM, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook filed for military vacation to gather for Jin’s discharge. The label, however, said it’s “difficult to confirm” BTS’ plans.
Despite this, Jin will meet his fans at the “Jin’s Greeting” event on June 13 at the Seoul Jamsil Sports Complex. The event is one of the activities lined up for the group’s annual BTS FESTA celebration.
Jin was the first BTS member to enlist in the military in December 2022. He debuted as the vocalist and visual of the K-pop powerhouse on June 13.
