Lorin, Venice Bektas on Annabelle Rama’s cryptic posts: ‘That’s just Lola’

By this time, Lorin and Venice Bektas, daughters of Ruffa Gutierrez, have gotten used to their grandmother Annabelle Rama‘s upfront personality, and so her recent cryptic posts on social media are nothing novel to them.
Rama earlier made headlines after giving hint to her approval of a certain “Barbie doll,” while showing disdain to a certain “Chucky,” who show biz observers speculate to be referring to Barbie Imperial and Sarah Lahbati, respectively.
The veteran talent manager’s post came days after Imperial was reported to be dating her son Richard Gutierrez, who has yet to speak up about his split with Lahbati.
Interviewed by MJ Marfori, the Bektas sisters initially declined to comment on Rama’s posts, but gave in afterwards though they did not mention who their grandmother could be referring to as “Barbie Doll” and “Chucky.”
“No reaction. I’m very used to Lola always speaking her mind. It’s really nothing new to us. It’s just Lola,” said Lorin.
When asked if they ever stopped Rama from making cryptic posts, Venice said she would rather understand her grandmother instead of trying to stop her from doing so.
“I don’t have Facebook personally so I just see it being sent to me. So I’m like, what’s happening? I’m like, Lola… kasi matanda na eh (because she’s old already),” she said of Rama. “That’s really what they’re like. We are her apos (grandchildren) so we can’t really stop her. She’s not going to listen to us.”
Despite the reports hounding Gutierrez and Imperial, neither of them have yet to confirm nor deny their romantic relationship, as of press time.
Lorin and Venice are the daughters of Ruffa Gutierrez with her ex-husband Turkish businessman Yilmaz Bektas. The ex-couple wed in 2003 and split four years later. Their marriage was declared annulled in 2012.
