Danica Sotto, Marc Pingris’ Instagram pages used by scammer to ask for money
Marc Pingris informed his followers that his and his wife Danica Sotto’s Instagram accounts were accessed by an unknown user, and were used to ask for money from other users.
Pingris warned against the modus through his Instagram Stories on Friday, June 7.
“Hello, fam and friends. If you receive any weird or suspicious messages from my IG and my wife Danica’s IG account, please disregard and do not reply. Do not click any link sent from messages,” he said.
“Someone is using our accounts, messaging people and also asking for GCash. Please be vigilant,” he noted. “Call us if you have to para lang ma-verify.”
It was not immediately known if Pingris and Sotto were able to break off the scammer’s access to their accounts as the basketball player did not expound on the matter.
Article continues after this advertisementPingris and Sotto earlier made headlines after cheating speculations involving him and actress Kim Rodriguez arose. These stemmed from the photos of Pingris and Rodriguez which netizens pointed out to be taken at the same location.
Article continues after this advertisementPingris denied the rumors, saying the two of them were together merely because of basketball events in which Rodriguez served as his team’s muse.
Sotto, for her part, admitted she was bothered by how “people make up stories.” She also disclosed reminding Pingris to be mindful of his actions around other people that might be misinterpreted by the public.
Pingris and Sotto, who have been married since 2007, share three children together, namely Jean Michael, Caela and Jean-Luc.
