Renowned filmmaker Erik Matti revealed that he is part of the jury for this year’s International Emmy Awards, which is set to be held in November.
Matti made public his task to help with the judging at the esteemed award-giving body through his Instagram page on Thursday, June 6.
“I am honored. Thank you, [International Emmys]!” he said, showing the logo of the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences organization alongside the phrases “2024 juror” and “International Emmy Awards.”
The organization holds the annual awards program to recognize excellence in TV programming produced outside of the United States. The International Emmy Awards is an event separate from the Primetime Emmy Awards, which celebrates shows produced in the US.
Matti’s fellow celebrities were in awe, sending their congratulatory greetings to the director via the comments section.
This is not the first time the award-giving body recognized Matti and his expertise. In 2022, the six-part miniseries “On the Job” which he helmed was nominated for best TV movie or miniseries, and competed against productions from the United Kingdom, France and Chile.
Aside from Matti, Filipino actress Dimples Romana also had the honor of being part of the award-giving body’s jury in 2020 and 2022.
