Sandy Andolong admitted that she still receives hate from Nora Aunor’s fans, called “Noranians,” more than 20 years since she married the latter’s ex-husband, actor Christopher de Leon.

In a guest appearance on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” on Tuesday, June 4, Andolong recalled that when the first wave of bashing came to her, social media was still not rampant, but now that it is, there are still some detractors she encounters.

“Actually, now I do. But I find that out from other people, from fans. Kasi hindi naman ako talaga nagbabasa. But sometimes, like in my account, Instagram, may papasok,” she said.

Despite the continuous criticism to this day, Andolong asserted that she’s not one to mind the hate.

“Noong araw pa man, hindi ko na pinapansin talaga. It doesn’t really affect me because they don’t really know the true story behind sa buhay namin, how everything started. Ngayong uso na ang social media, wala naman. In a way, natatawa lang ako,” she said.

The 65-year-old actress remarked that “she doesn’t really care” about the bashing as long as the bashers will not drag her children into the hate train.

“And then I said, ‘Hindi ko na mabasa, and I don’t really care.’ I don’t care, because it will not make my life better. But if they are happy doing that, ‘yung saying cruel things about myself, that’s okay; ako lang ‘yan eh, huwag lang ang mga anak ko,” she expressed.

When asked how her relationship is with Aunor, the seasoned actress shared that they are “civil around each other” but don’t have long conversations.

“We haven’t seen each other for a long time. Pero nababalitaan ko siya sa mga bata, but every time we see each other, okay naman. We’re civil with each other. It’s more of a ‘hi, hello,” she said.

De Leon and Aunor tied the knot in 1975, and their marriage was dissolved in 1996. They share one biological son, Ian de Leon, and four adopted children: Lotlot de Leon, Matet de Leon, Kiko, and Kenneth.
