Singer-songwriter Zayn Malik admitted that he used to be a user of dating apps, specifically Tinder, but would often get kicked out of the system due to people accusing him of catfishing.
In a recent interview with NYLON, the former One Direction member revealed that using dating apps hasn’t been successful for him as he was accused of impersonating himself.
“It’s not been too successful for me, I’ll be honest. Everyone accused me of catfishing. They’re like, ‘What are you using Zayn Malik’s pictures for?’ I’ve been kicked off once or twice,” he confessed.
Given his failed attempt at one of the modern ways of dating, Malik shared that he is putting a pause on searching for romance in the meantime.
“I’m really content and happy with being single for the first time in my life,” he expressed.

Malik, who was previously engaged to Little Mix’s Perrie Edwards and was in a relationship next with supermodel Gigi Hadid, with whom he shares a daughter, reflected on his dating history, hinting that “he doesn’t know what we were doing” at the time of both relationships.
“From 17 to 21, I was in a relationship. I was engaged and [planned to get] married, and I didn’t know anything about anything at that point,” he recalled. “I thought I did, because I was 21. I was legally allowed to do everything, but I didn’t know shit.”
“From 21 to 27, I was with Gi,” Malik continued. “We had a kid, and I didn’t really take much time to get to know myself. It’s probably wise to take your time before you fully invest in another human being as a lifelong partner.”
Malik rose to fame after joining “The X Factor” in 2010 and became one of the members of the five-piece boy band One Direction. He left the group in 2015, shortly before the remaining bandmates announced an indefinite hiatus.
The five members of the popular boy group – Malik, Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson – are now pursuing solo careers in music.
