Rommel Padilla hopes son Daniel Padilla, Kathryn Bernardo will get back together

Rommel Padilla expressed his hope for his son Daniel Padilla and ex-girlfriend Kathryn Bernardo to get back together, saying the ex-couple had dedicated a lot of time to making their relationship work, and they could do it again.

Rommel said this in a chance interview with showbiz personality StarsPhotog via Tiktok at an event when asked how he helped Daniel in dealing with the fallout of the latter’s relationship with Bernardo.

“May pagkakataon na nagkakasubukan pero para sa’kin, I still pray na sana dumating ang panahon na magkita sila ulit magkaunawaan dahil napakalaking panahon ang nailaan sa pagmamahal nila,” he said. “Ipinagdadasal ko na sana manumbalik pa ang kanilang pagmamahalan.”

(There are moments when one’s relationship is tested but for me, I still pray that the time would come for them to meet again and understand each other. They dedicated a big part of their lives to their love. I’m praying for them to rekindle their past love.)

When the screen veteran was asked to share how he supported Daniel, Rommel said they should weigh their thoughts on the matter while they’re still single.

“Habang sila mga single, mag-muni muni sila or timbangin nila ‘yung kanilang pagmamahalan sa kasalukuyan. Dapat ba tayo magbalikan? Ito ang time na ‘yun na makita nila,” he said.

(While they’re still single, they should rethink or weigh their love in the present. Should they get back together? This is the time for them to think things through.)

Rommel earlier denied reports of him pouncing on Bernardo in hopes of defending his “cheater son” on Facebook last April.

Daniel and Kathryn confirmed their split in November 2023 through separate statements on Instagram after more than a decade-long relationship.
