Fans hoping to see Gabbi Garcia on the pageant stage may rejoice as the actress will grace this year’s Miss Universe Philippines coronation night, not as a candidate but as a host.
The Miss Universe Philippines (MUPH) organization announced this through its Instagram page on Friday, May 10.
“TV personality GABBI GARCIA will be joining us as one of the hosts at The Coronation of Miss Universe Philippines 2024!” it read.
Garcia also shared the announcement via her Instagram Stories, adding the caption “hello universe.”

Garcia was previously rumored to have joined the local pageant, but the actress dismissed it, saying it wouldn’t be easy for her to join the competition.
“Nakakatuwa and nakakakilig because they’re considering me, but at the same time kasi that’s a lot of things to process. Hindi naman gano’n kadali sumali lang,” she said.
In 2021, Garcia revealed that joining the Miss Universe pageant was her childhood dream, and that she was just waiting for the right time to fulfill it.
“If it’s gonna happen, it’s gonna happen. If not, I’m also okay with it. Kasi hindi naman lahat—like realistic-wise, it’s not easy to join, especially for me who has a lot of contracts. I’m tied with a lot of brands, with management, with a network,” Garcia said at the time.
“But if you’re just gonna ask me if I have the desire to join, of course, that’s my childhood dream. But we’ll still see,” she added.
Garcia will be sharing the hosting duties with her fellow Kapuso actor Alden Richards, Tim Yap, Miss Universe 2022 R’Bonney Gabriel and Emmy-winning host Jeannie Mai at the coronation night on May 22 at SM MOA Arena.
