Claudine Barretto declared that she is not opening her heart to a new romantic relationship until her annulment with estranged husband, actor Raymart Santiago, gets finalized.
During a recent press conference for her new film “Sinag,” the actress said it is her decision to not get into a relationship despite some expressing their affection toward her.
“Wala pa ring laman ang puso ko kundi mga anak ko. Sa ilang years kong hiwalay, kasal pa rin ako,” the actress stated, as per a report from Bandera.
“Ayokong makita ng mga anak ko na may ibang lalaki na umaaligid or magkaroon ako ng ibang relasyon until matapos ang annulment namin ni Raymart,” she stressed.
Barretto further noted that she is not accepting suitors at the moment, contrary to rumors that she said have no proof.
“Sarado ang puso ko ngayon hanggang ma-annulled,” she underscored.
Barretto then talked about the relationship of their children Sabina, 19, and Santino, 16, with Santiago, saying they have no ill-feelings toward their dad despite his differences with the actress.
“Kung anuman ang problem namin ni Raymart, sa amin na lang ‘yon. As they grow old, alam na nila kung ano ang nangyayari,” she said.
“I explain to them that there are things I have to fight for and this is para sa [kanila]. Hanggang doon lang ang explanation ko. ‘Yung mga details wala na,” she added.
Barretto and Santiago were married twice: first in May 2004 and then in March 2006. The former couple separated in 2013.
Meanwhile, 27-year-old actor Yasser Marta earlier revealed he developed “romantic feelings” for Barretto, his co-star in the TV series “Lovers & Liars.” Barretto did not immediately comment on Marta’s declaration of feelings.
