American singer-actress Hilary Duff added a new member to her family as she announced the birth of her fourth child.

On Instagram on Tuesday, May 7 (EST), the “Lizzie McGuire” star shared photos of her emotional home birth in an inflatable pool as she wrapped her little girl in a towel and smooched her with kisses.

“Now we know why she made us wait so long. She was perfecting those cheeks!” she wrote. “I have been dreaming of holding you in my arms for months, and the past 5 days of getting to know you, stare at you, and smell you have been pure moments of magic. We all love you like you’ve been here all along, beauty.”

Her newborn Townes joins big sisters Mae and Banks, whom Hilary shares with husband Matthew Koma, along with big brother Luca, her son from her previous marriage to former NHL player Mike Comrie.

This is the third time that the 36-year-old actress-singer has given birth at home, and in her interview on “The Kelly Clarkson Show” in 2022, she compared hospital birth to home birth, saying that “home birth was the right decision for her family.”

“You’re bringing a baby into the world; that’s some of the hardest work anybody can do,” she said. “And they don’t let you have water in the hospital, food, or snacks, and you’re about to work the hardest you’ve ever worked to push a baby out.”

“It’s kind of the most hippie-dippy thing about me to have my kids around while I’m birthing. At first, I thought it was really weird, but it was beautiful to bring another member in with everyone around,” she added.

Aside from Duff, celebrities such as Jennifer Connelly, Julianne Moore, Demi Moore, Cindy Crawford, and Meryl Streep have all experienced giving birth at home.
