Coleen Garcia gets real about having to live up to beauty standards
Actress-celebrity mom Coleen Garcia opened up about having to live up to beauty standards, especially in the world of showbiz, with an admission that she is not always in her best state to appear pretty because she’s only “human.”
On her Instagram story, Garcia shared two photos of herself — one all glammed up, with a caption that read, “What you think I look like at home,” while the other photo is her barefaced, no makeup look, with the caption, “But actually… Sometimes, I look like this.”
“I look sick. I look pale. I look depressed. My hair’s a frizzy mess, especially in this insane heat,” she continued.
The former “It’s Showtime” host remarked that she looks “unwell” not because of vice but because she’s only human.
“No, it’s not because of bisyo (vice). It’s not because of unbearable stress, or marital problems or depression. It’s because I’m human. We all are. I break out, I get tired, I am getting older every day,” she stated.

“Showbiz is a switch we turn on until we get to shed the makeup, the hair extensions and the pretensions and just BE. We complain about how everything on social media is so fake and filtered, and then in the same breath, we bash what’s real when we feel like it’s not pretty enough for us,” Garcia further explained.
The 31-year-old actress is currently on a hiatus from showbiz as she focuses on taking care of her three-year-old son, Amari, whom she shared with husband Billy Crawford.
Garcia was last seen in “Adarna Gang” and “Kaluskos” in 2022.
