The long wait is over. David Corenswet’s first photo as Superman has been unveiled, as he picks up the Man of Steel suit from his predecessor, fan-favorite Henry Cavill.
DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn ignited fans’ excitement as he shared on his social media pages a single photo of Corenswet donning the Man of Steel costume, telling them to “get ready” for the reemergence.
The photo gives a glimpse of what awaits Clark Kent’s alter ego. The Man of Tomorrow appears to be gearing up for some action as he puts on one of his iconic red boots for an otherworldly attack that takes place outside the window, hinting that Metropolis is in danger.
“One noticeable detail is that Superman does once again have his red trunks, marking a change from the last version of the super suit we saw onscreen and following the continuing evolution of the suit in the comics. The suit also seems like it’s a little more matte than we’ve seen recently, with an impressive ruby cape,” DC Studios website stated.
DC fans took to X (formerly Twitter) to share their thoughts about Corenswet picking up the role, with some excited for the brand-new story and others still mourning Cavill’s version of the superhero.
“James Gunn’s choice David Corenswet might be a good superman but Henry Cavill will forever remain the best Superman ever!” wrote one fan.
