Eric Quizon shared that “Queen of All Media” Kris Aquino was his first showbiz girlfriend amid the popular belief that it was Dina Bonnevie, who also became his girlfriend later on.
Sitting down on TicTALK with Aster Amoyo, Quizon was asked if Bonnevie was his first girlfriend in show business, which he denied.
“Hindi si Dina. It was K,” he said. Amoyo then gave a shout out to K, saying, “Hi, K. Jan sa America.”
“We were very young then. She was 16. I was turning 20,” said the actor.
Amoyo then disclosed that the K they were referring to was indeed Aquino, saying she wouldn’t want the audience to wonder who it was.
Quizon smiled and then extended a message to Aquino, who’s currently battling multiple autoimmune diseases. “Yes, si Kris. Kris, get well soon.”
Quizon and Aquino first worked in the 1991 film “The Vizconde Massacre Story (God Help Us!),” followed by a second film, “So Happy Together,” in 2004.
Quizon said that he remained friends with Aquino and Bonnevie to this day.
“Dina was ano, ang sarap kausap. There was never a dull moment. Very nice person,” he said.
Meanwhile, the “Mongolian Barbecue” actor previously recalled his “almost-relationship” with Aiko Melendez, saying the romance did not progress because he wouldn’t want to come off as a “pedophile” at the time due to their nine-year gap.
Despite getting linked with different female personalities in the past, the now-talent manager decided to remain single and not have a family, saying he was used to being alone.
“Nagkaroon naman ako ng mga relationships, kaya lang parang hindi talaga siya nagwowork, siguro masiyado lang talaga ako naging independent. Hindi ko kaya na may kasama sa bahay. Gusto ko talaga ‘yung mag isa,” he said in an interview with Ogie Diaz.
(I’ve had relationships, but that’s why he doesn’t really seem to be working; maybe I’ve just become too independent. I can’t be with someone at home. I really want to be alone.)
