Bea Alonzo files separate cyberlibel cases vs Cristy Fermin, Ogie Diaz
Bea Alonzo filed three separate cyber libel complaints against show biz columnist and talk show hosts Cristy Fermin and Ogie Diaz, including their co-hosts in their respective online programs, and an unnamed netizen who pretended to be speaking on behalf of the actress.
Alonzo filed the charges before the Quezon City Prosecutors Office, entertainment journalist Nelson Canlas reported on his social media platforms.
According to the actress’ camp, she became a victim of “false, malicious, and damaging information,” not only because of respondents Fermin and Diaz’s shows, but also because of this unnamed individual who made as if they personally knew Alonzo.
“Naghain ng tatlong magkakahiwalay na criminal case for cyber libel si Bea Alonzo sa Quezon City Prosecutors Office,” Canlas said in the report. “Nakasaad sa complaint affidavit ni Bea na naging biktima siya ng mali, malisyoso at mga mapanirang impormasyon na mula sa nagpanggap na malapit sa kanya at inilathala at pinag usapan sa online shows nina Fermin at Diaz nang walang basehan.”

Diaz, Fermin, and their fellow respondents have yet to comment on the criminal complaints, as of this writing.
Alonzo recently broke off her engagement with Dominic Roque, her boyfriend of three years last February, an incident that has been widely reported about in the media, including on Fermin and Diaz’s respective vlogs.
A few weeks after confirming their separation, Roque broke his silence and called out “malicious innuendos” made by Fermin about his sexuality, with a warning that a battery of lawyers are reviewing the respondent’s reports to make her account for her supposed “defamatory” statements.
Roque was referring to allegations that he was romantically involved with Dapitan Mayor Bullet Jalosjos and former Quezon City congressman Bong Suntay, after the actor resided in a condominium unit owned by the former, and was even supposedly gifted a gas station by the latter, among other allegations.
He further debunked rumors that his separation from Alonzo stemmed from a pre-nuptial disagreement between them.
“Reckless statements relating to the alleged disagreement over a pre-nuptial agreement between them are, not only unverified, but merely based on speculations intended to produce a negative image on the parties concerned.” concluded the statement.
